Diving in Boston Harbor
Two dozen people will jump from rooftop platforms in Boston Harbor during a cliff diving competition on June 4. The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series kicks off its season in Boston – the series’ only North American stop – then heads to Paris, Copenhagen, Sydney and four other international cities. The top 12 male and top 12 female cliff diving athletes will jump from temporary platforms at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston. Cliff diving combines aerial and acrobatic free falls and dives from 70 feet (for women) to 90 feet (for men) above the water. Opening of the Ansel Adams exhibition
Few have captured the beauty of the natural world better than Ansel Adams, whose iconic black and white photographs have inspired viewers around the world. Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry unveils a new traveling exhibit on May 28 titled “Ansel Adams: Masterpieces,” featuring 48 images considered to be among the best of his career.
