Two dozen people will jump from rooftop platforms in Boston Harbor during a cliff diving competition on June 4. The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series kicks off its season in Boston – the series’ only North American stop – then heads to Paris, Copenhagen, Sydney and four other international cities. The top 12 male and top 12 female cliff diving athletes will jump from temporary platforms at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston. Cliff diving combines aerial and acrobatic free falls and dives from 70 feet (for women) to 90 feet (for men) above the water. Athletes can hit the water at speeds of up to 53 miles per hour – or more. Doors open at noon and the show starts at 2 p.m. To attend, you must order your free ticket via www.eventbrite.com.
