Denver Colfax Marathon Joins Cigna as New Title Sponsor

The Denver Colfax Marathon is expected to bring together more than 20,000 participants in 2022.

DENVER – Colorado’s biggest running event has a new look for 2022.

The Denver Colfax Marathon on Friday announced a new title sponsorship deal with health services company Cigna.

Race officials have said the new reigning sponsorship will help make the race “world class” as it enters its 16th year.

More than 20,000 runners are expected to participate in the next Denver Colfax Marathon scheduled for May 13-15, 2022.

“We are extremely excited to form a partnership with Cigna that will allow us to take our running event to new heights in Colorado and the United States,” said Andrea Dowdy, CEO of the Denver Colfax Marathon.

As part of its sponsorship, Cigna funds a special incentive to encourage enrollment. For each runner who signs up from Friday November 5 through Tuesday November 30, Cigna will donate $ 25 to the global non-profit fundraiser that will be distributed to local charities after the race.

Cigna, whose Mountain States region is based in Denver, has more than 1,800 employees in Colorado.

“At Cigna, we focus on the overall health of the person and recognize the benefits of physical activity and social connections on the physical health and mental well-being of people,” said the president of Cigna Mountain States, John Roble. “Our title sponsorship of the Denver Colfax Marathon is a great opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle and support the Denver community.”

The 15th annual race was held in October 2021 after being postponed from May 2020. The Denver Colfax 2022 Marathon weekend will feature a marathon, half-marathon, 10-mile, 5-mile, and the nation’s largest marathon relay. .
